Create a collage
When a child is born, many people find true meaning in their lives and a love they never knew before. What could be more precious to share than this love?

No matter if your first child is born, the first day at school is coming near or the next birthday is about to happen – you can create an individual movie about each of these topics. As a reminder for your family or as a fancy invitation for friends.

There are many things to do. No matter whether you only want to spice up your website with some pictures or round up your video with some additional media.

Collage

When you decide to work with photos, you can create a collage to make your film more lively.

You can create your own collage by opnening the 'Effects' menu. Just click 'Video FX' and select 'Multi-Image'. There you see many different effects. Each of them means a different image size and position. You can see a preview, when you click on the effect once.

To apply it to your video, you have to place different pictures on the image track. You just have to decide how many pictures you want to combine in one image and where you want to place them. Then drag the respective effect on the respective image and place them under each other on several image tracks.

MovieShow Maker Styles

Catooh offers you several MovieShow Maker Styles for many different topics. They make it particularly easy to combine photos and video shots to a movie – especially when you do not know much about video editing. You just have to choose your image material and a MovieShow Maker Style. All the rest will be done by the MovieShow Maker.

Tip: We already published a tutorial about working with MovieShow Maker Styles where you can read about the single steps.

You can open the MovieShow Maker by clicking 'Files' → 'MovieShow Maker' or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+M. Pick a style from the 'Select style' menu. If there is no style that matches your film's topic, you can download other styles at catooh.com. Just clik 'More style'. You will be automatically connected to catooh.com where you can look for other styles.

When you have decided for a style, you will just have to click on 'Apply style (preview)'. If you like the style, click on 'Apply' and then close the 'MovieShow Maker' window.

Afterwards you can do small adjustments concerning music, the picture order or individual effects.

The right presentation

In case you created a video invitation, you can easily export your movie and then upload it to a website or send it as an e-mail attachement. Just click on 'Files' → 'Export movie' and then pick a video codec (e.g. Quicktime). After doing so, you can upload it to your MAGIX Online Album.

Tip: Every MAGIX customer can use a free Online Album. Just register at

Maybe you acquired a taste for it and want to create a movie with the prettiest pictures from the first day at school or the birthday party for your collection. In case you decide to burn the movie on DVD, you can use a thematically matching DVD menu. This will make it look much friendlier, especially when you burn several videos on DVD.

When you are done with editing, you just have to click on 'Burn'. A new window will open and you can choose from several DVD menus. We included some propositions in our children-collection. But you can find even more DVD menus at catooh.com. Some DVD menus are already included in your MAGIX Movie Edit pro.
