The Soundtrack Maker helps you to create a matching background music to your photo and video projects. It uses Styles – instrumental pieces of music – that it adjusts to your project. It takes into account scene cuts just as well as changes of mood in the image material.
This tutorial will show you how to install Soundtrack Maker Styles to your MAGIX programs, where to find them afterwards and how to use them for your media projects.
1. What are Soundtrack Maker Styles?
Soundtrack Maker Styles belong to our application files which you can buy at Catooh. All of the files in the category “Templates & Effects” are saved in the file format .mtp or .mis. These are special container formats which we use for media such as DVD menus, Show Maker Styles, 3D Power Effects and other. Files which are saved in that format need to be manually installed to your MAGIX programs before they can be used.
You can use Soundtrack Maker Styles with the following MAGIX programs and their follow-up versions:
MAGIX PhotoStory on CD & DVD 5
MAGIX Movie Edit pro 12

3. How can I use Soundtrack Maker Styles?
First, arrange your photo and video material on the image track. Then open the Soundtrack Maker by clicking “Edit” → “Wizards” → “Soundtrack Maker”.
Now you need to select a music style that matches your project. Your downloaded style appears in the list. In case it should not be suitable for your current project, click on “Purchase more styles online” to look for other Soundtrack Maker Styles in our online shop.
Every Soundtrack Maker Style comes along with various emotions. These are elements that fit certain moods. You can select and preview these under point 2. Use the time bar to add a mood change to your project. Just move the blue button onto the respective position and then select an emotion (e.g. dreamy). Then press “Add emotion”.
After adding emotions, you can press “create soundtrack”. The Soundtrack Maker now creates a background music and places it underneath your photos and videos on the image track.
To listen to the soundtrack, press the “Play” button on the preview screen. If you like it, click on “Apply”, to add it to your project. In case you dislike it, you can easily create an alternative version by pressing “Create variation”.
